An AI assistant that shows its work
A workplace AI assistant. I designed the conversation surface, the source-citation pattern and the workspace where teams organise prompts, so answers can always be traced back to where they came from.
The work
Designed the empty state as a teaching surface — suggested prompts grouped by job, not by feature.
Built a citation component that sits inline with the answer rather than in a footnote nobody scrolls to.
Designed streaming, stopped, retried and rate-limited states so the interface never sits silently.
Files were handed over annotated and component-based, with a live walkthrough for the engineering team.
